How to play Pyramid Solitaire
Twenty-eight cards are dealt face-up in a pyramid of seven overlapping rows: one card on top, then two, then three, all the way down to seven. The remaining twenty-four cards form the stock, and you flip them one at a time to a waste pile.
- A pyramid card is exposed — and playable — only when both cards overlapping it below have been removed. The bottom row is exposed from the start.
- Remove pairs of exposed cards whose ranks add up to 13. Aces count as 1, Jacks 11, Queens 12. Handy pairs: A+Q, 2+J, 3+10, 4+9, 5+8, 6+7.
- A King is worth 13 on its own, so tap it once to clear it.
- You may pair an exposed pyramid card with the top of the waste. Tap the stock to draw; when it empties you can recycle the waste — three passes in total, then the stock is dead.
- Win by clearing all 28 pyramid cards. The stock and waste do not need to be empty.
