Spider is the big-board favorite: two decks, ten columns, and one goal — build eight complete King-to-Ace runs and lift them off the table. Solitaire Nest Spider is free, needs no signup, and runs right in your browser on phone or laptop, online or off.
How to play Spider Solitaire
You start with ten tableau columns and a face-down stock of fifty cards. Uncover and rearrange the columns until you can form a full sequence in a single suit, King down to Ace. Complete one and it clears itself off the board automatically; clear all eight to win.
- Build down in rank in any column, regardless of suit — a red 9 goes on any 10, an 8 on any 9, and so on.
- You may pick up and move a run only if it is all one suit and in order. A face-up card of a different suit blocks everything stacked above it.
- Complete a King-to-Ace run in one suit and it is removed to a foundation — eight full runs wins the game.
- Click the stock to deal one card face-up to every column. This is only allowed when no column is empty, so fill the gaps first.
- Any single card or valid same-suit run may move onto an empty column.
- When you uncover a face-down card it flips face-up automatically.
Choose your difficulty: 1, 2, or 4 suits
Difficulty comes from the suit count. One suit is a gentle warm-up where every run stacks. Two suits is the classic middle ground. Four suits is the real test, since keeping same-suit runs intact is much harder. Use the 1 / 2 / 4 control in the toolbar to switch — it deals a fresh game.
Moving cards: drag or tap
On a computer, drag a card or run onto a legal column. On a phone, tap a card to pick it up — legal columns are highlighted — then tap where you want it. Double-tap to send a run to its best spot. Use Undo to explore lines and Hint when you are stuck. Your game saves automatically, so you can close the tab and pick up right where you left off.
